To use our service, you must specify your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address, among other information. To accept payments with PAYMILL, you must specify your bank account details. Furthermore, we need more details about you and your company if you wish to use our service in its entirety. Testing requires only a valid e-mail address and a password.
Under the circumstances, we also ask you to answer several security questions (e.g. your place of birth or your mother’s maiden name). We need this information to process transactions, assign new passwords if you have forgotten your current password, to protect you from credit card and bank account fraud, to carry out corresponding verifications, and to contact you regarding the administration of your account or our services.
If you use our service, we ask you to request and save information about the transaction, including the price of the transaction, the nature of the transaction (sale of goods, sale of a service, etc) and e-mail address, customer address, IP address, token and telephone number of the customer. We collect the IP address and other information about the computer or the device that you use to access your user account to monitor your account for unauthorized access.
Information about you from third parties
To protect against potential fraud, we check the information provided by you with the help of the payment processor and/or credit agencies listed in the section "Use and disclosure of information". During such verification, we receive personal information about you from such services.
If you owe money to PAYMILL, we are allowed to carry out a review of your credit-worthiness within the scope of the statutory possibilities by obtaining additional information about you from a credit reporting agency. PAYMILL also reserves the right to obtain and check regularly a business and/or customer credit report from such a credit reporting agency for each account, at its discretion, and close accounts on the basis of the information obtained during such credit check procedure.
If we cannot verify the information provided by you or if we need additional information about your company, we ask you to send additional information to us by fax, scanned document or post (such as disclosure of all shareholders, commercial registry extract from less than 3 months ago, credit card statements or other information, associated with the appropriate address) or perform PostIdent. PAYMILL reserves the right, under the circumstances, to conduct an on-site visit your company.

Please note that merchants you buy from and with whom you enter into a contract may have their own data privacy policies and PAYMILL is not liable for their application and procedure. Your information can be collected there under data privacy policies of another third party.

Our contact with merchants
We usually communicate with our merchants via e-mail or phone to provide the requested services: during the processing of customer complaints, to respond to customer inquiries, to inform you that we believe your user account is used for an unauthorized purpose, to confirm information about you, your business or account transactions, for debt collection, to conduct customer surveys or investigate suspicious transactions.
We use your e-mail address or postal address to confirm the opening of your user account, to send you notifications about, for example, the receipt or the debiting of payments via PAYMILL (including referral bonus payment, as described below), to inform you about important changes to our products and services, and to send you notices and other statutory notifications. Members generally cannot choose which messages they would like to receive. However, the messages are sent mainly for informational purposes and not for advertising purposes.
In connection with independent audits of our financial statements and transactions, the auditors may contact some of our customers to confirm the correctness of our documents. The auditors may not however use personal information for secondary purposes.
The security of your account also depends on how well you protect your password. Do not share your password with anyone. You will never be requested by PAYMILL employees to provide your password. Therefore, you can consider e-mails or other messages in which you are asked for your password as unauthorised and suspicious and we ask you to forward them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you still pass your password on to another person for specific reasons, this person gains access to your user account and your personal information, and you are responsible for all activities carried out using your password. If you believe that someone else has access to your password, change it immediately by logging into your user account at www.paymill.de and making changes in the profile settings. You should also notify us immediately as described above.
You can check the personal information you provided at any time and change this data for your PAYMILL account only with a written statement. You can close your account only with a written statement.
If you cancel your account, your information will not be used or sold or given to third parties for other purposes unless it can help us avoid fraudulent activities or we are obliged to do so in the course of criminal proceedings or by law.
PAYMILL is a service that is only sucessful with the trust of our company in its customers and vice versa. The protection of your personal data is therefore a very important and special concern of ours.
Principle: Trustworthy handling of your data
PAYMILL handles the data submitted by you carefully and conscientiously.
